General description


When the features of the terrain or the length of the route do not allow the drainage of wastewater by gravity, sewer pumping stations are used. SPS made of fiberglass can pump surface, domestic and industrial wastewater.

Application area

Horizontal sewage pumping stations are used at facilities with an uneven flow of wastewater, with a possible salvo flow of wastewater, for example, in surface (rain) drainage systems.

Short description

The station's reservoir accumulates the salvo discharge, and the pumps pump the wastewater in the normal mode. This design allows the pumps to pump the accumulated volume of wastewater during the hours of the lowest electricity consumption. In such cases, it is advisable to use submersible pumps.

Dry pumps can also be used in horizontal pumping stations. In this case, the station tank consists of two compartments: a receiving tank (wet) and a dry chamber.

One of the advantages of this design is that the pumps and shutoff and control valves are located in a dry chamber not filled with waste water, which makes it possible to service pumping units and shutoff valves inside the pump station without pumping out the liquid or lifting the pumping equipment to the surface.

Construction of horizontal sewage pumping stations
  • the body of the horizontal SPS is a cylindrical container made of durable fiberglass. When using dry pumps, the horizontal tank is divided into two compartments: a receiving tank (wet) and a dry chamber;
  • the tank is equipped with welded pipes: for incoming and outgoing pipelines, for electric cable, ventilation duct, suction pipeline (in dry sewage pumping stations);
  • the necks are welded vertically to this tank, the number is determined by the project, in which the lifting and drainage mechanisms of the pumps, trash basket, ladder for descending into the sewage pumping station, platform for servicing the valves are installed;
  • the set includes pressure pipelines with stop valves and check valves.

For the complete set of the sewage pumping station, we suggest using pumping equipment from leading manufacturers, including KSB, Grundfos, Willo, Ebara, Lowara. If necessary, our specialists select equipment according to the individual request of the client.

Completion of horizontal pumping stations
  • horizontal casing of the pumping station HELYX made of high-strength reinforced fiberglass with a service well (neck), the quantity is specified by the project. The well is equipped with a lockable hatch and service ladder;
  • metal frame (bed) for mounting pumps with stainless steel guides;
  • pressure pipe made of stainless steel. Check valves, valves made of cast iron or stainless steel, depending on the type of wastewater;
  • inlet and outlet pipes;
  • suction line, for dry pumps only;
  • pipeline for natural ventilation (ventilation duct);
  • cable channel for power and control cables;
  • a platform for servicing valves, when using submersible pumps, is made of stainless steel;
  • pump equipment;
  • control cabinet assembly HELYX or equivalent;
  • for a horizontal sewage pumping station, an installation kit is provided: tie straps for fastening in the base plate.
