General description


Sewage pumping stations (SPS) of dry design are designed to operate both with a uniform flow of wastewater, and in the presence of peak loads of wastewater.

Application area

This type of SPS is advisable to use at high productivity. As a rule, they are divided into two compartments: receiving (where the liquid enters) and working (pumping). The main part of the equipment, including the pumps, is located in a dry compartment, the access of liquid to which is blocked. This type is called SPS dry execution.

    SPS design with dry pumps:
  1. The body of the HELYX sewage pumping station with dry pumps can be made in the form of cylindrical containers made of durable reinforced fiberglass, both in vertical and horizontal design. It is also possible to perform such a pump station in a single housing divided by a sealed partition into two compartments: receiving and working.
  2. More often, for a dry SPS, two vertical containers made of fiberglass, cylindrical in shape, are used, which are interconnected by suction pipelines. When connecting, elastic elements are used that can prevent negative stresses from deformation or vibration, and ensure the overall stability of the structure.
  3. The branch pipes are mounted to the station body, which are carefully sealed at the joints. By means of them, the connection of the case with the incoming and outgoing pipelines, the supply of the electric cable, the connection with the ventilation duct and the suction pipelines are provided.
  4. A platform and a staircase are provided for the control and operation of the station.
  5. The installation of pressure pipelines with ZRA (shut-off valves) and check valves is also carried out.

    SPS composition with dry pumps:
  1. The casing of the HELYX pumping station is made of reinforced fiberglass with a high degree of strength: vertical or horizontal, the number of tanks or the design in a single casing is specified by the project.
  2. Metal frame (base) for fastening pumps with stainless steel guides in a dry chamber.
  3. Stainless steel pressure line. Check valves, shut-off valves made of cast iron or stainless steel, depending on the type of wastewater, in a dry chamber.
  4. Branch pipes: inlet and outlet.
  5. Suction pipelines, according to the number of pumps.
  6. Ventilation duct (natural ventilation).
  7. Cable channel for power and control cables.
  8. Working pumping group.
  9. Control panel or control cabinet.
  10. Mounting kit for fixing to the base plate: anchor bolts for installing vertical structures; Lashing straps for mounting horizontal structures.
Principle of operation

The effluent flows through the supply pipeline into the receiving tank. Further, dry pumps pump waste water in pressure mode to the destination. The control of pumping equipment can be configured to operate in both automatic and manual modes.

Product benefits

    The main advantages of HELYX horizontal pumping stations are:
  • the possibility of energy efficient operation in the mode of uneven flow of wastewater;
  • high mechanical strength of the body;
  • relatively low weight of structures (15-25% of the weight of steel tanks and 10% of concrete tanks), which allows to reduce labor costs during installation and delivery;
  • the service life of HELYX enclosures is at least 50 years;
  • corrosion resistance of HELYX fiberglass allows us to recommend it for use, including for installation in soils with an aggressive environment (for example, soils with a high content of sulfate compounds);
  • hulls and reservoirs made of fiberglass do not require waterproofing;
  • fiberglass is not a breeding ground for microorganisms, bacteria and fungi and does not require constant cleaning of the inner surface;
