General description

HELYX produces high-performance mechanical sand traps HELYX PM which are designed to capture insoluble mineral impurities larger than 0.2 mm (mainly sand), entering the facilities together with wastewater.

Application

The mechanical sand trap is designed to capture sand and suspended solids, and automatically remove them into the container. Sand removal is achieved due to the conical shape of the sand trap sump, as well as the conveyor screw immersed in it at an angle.

It is used at the stage of mechanical treatment as part of treatment facilities for household, industrial, and storm water wastewater.

Short description

HELYX PM sand traps are designed for the retention of insoluble mineral impurities larger than 0.2 mm (mainly sand) entering the facilities together with the waste water. The work of sand traps is based on the action of gravitational forces. The drain flows through an inlet located at the top of the hopper. The sand at the bottom is captured by the screw spiral and rises up to the outlet of the discharge tray, through which it is discharged outwards into the container.
