Belt gravity thickener is a continuous-action apparatus operating on the principle of filtration under the action of gravitational forces.
The prepared sediment comes from the flocculator along the loading chute and is smoothly laid out on the filter belt above the tension (guide) shaft.
As the belt moves towards the drive shaft, phase separation occurs due to the forces of gravity. The water released by coagulation seeps freely through the mesh structure of the filter belt, while the solid phase (coagulated flakes) remains on the belt. At the drive shaft, the thickened sediment is removed from the belt with a plastic scraper.
